  • Semi-truck/Car Accident settlement of $900,000

In January, 2012, a Beaver Dam Wisconsin man was traveling on Highway 146 when a semi-truck, traveling southbound rounding a curve, lost control, fishtailed into the man’s lane and collided with his car. The man suffered life threatening injuries and was hospitalized for 4 weeks. Attorney Stephen J. Eisenberg filed a claim against the semi-truck driver’s insurance company. The parties settled the claim for $900,000.00 in June, 2013.

  • Settlement of $560,000 for man's fall from apartment balcony

A Deforest Wisconsin man was injured when he fell from a second floor porch as a result of a balcony railing that collapsed in 2011. The man sustained an L1 compression fracture and was hospitalized for 5 days at a Beaver Dam Hospital. Attorney Stephen J. Eisenberg discovered that the landlord owned numerous properties in Beaver Dam, all in varying degrees of disrepair. Investigation revealed that the property from which the Deforest man fell had rotting wood on the balcony, a rotting storm door, loose window steps, leaking window installations, open live outlets and broken stairs. The balcony railing was propped up with rotting wood which collapsed when the man leaned against it. Eisenberg convinced the insurance company that its insured was liable under general negligence principals for failing to maintain the property in a safe and reasonable condition. The parties settled in June, 2013, for $560,000.00.

Stephen J. Eisenberg and Pam M. Baumgartner recently settled a wrongful death case for $1.35 million. An Iowa County woman was killed in a car accident. She was survived by her husband and three children. The driver of the vehicle in which she was a passenger ran a stop sign and was struck by a milk hauling truck. Investigation revealed that the truck was operating with malfunctioning brakes in violation of numerous federal commercial vehicle regulations.
